I knew it was too good of a deal to be true but I'm not in a great financial state. Honestly the phone performs well and the battery is great. What i can only describe as dread sank in on week 2 when I got ads all over the system (not in browser, or on a app, but the main system). By week 3 those ads became more targeted. I did a test by running the phone purely in airplane mode for 2 days and the ads still were there. So phone is cheap for a reason....you are the product. If you dont care that your data is being sold off go ahead.
Cut down Android Software and rather sluggish
I bought this phone for my aged father (so it is not the end of the world that this phone is slow), but the cut-down Android OS is terrible. The Xiaomi transfer software (Mi Mover) doesn't recognise the phone as being new or from Xiaomi, so you can't use software. You can't add Widgets to the HOME screen, so you can't have the MetService App or even a Clock. There are no basic themes or wall papers. You either need to use one of their silly/childish themes or use a photo you've taken. I ended up installing (and setting as DEFAULT), the PIXEL Launcher. This was purchased for my retired and invalid neighbour. Big buttons really helped with his sight, and was easy to set up.

I absolutely love this phone. I will never go back to an iPhone - Android is the way to go for me. Large screen size, so nice and clear and easy to use but not so big it gets in the way.
