Came apart today after a only having the product for a short number of weeks. Looks to be a weak point on the pivot. Will get a replacement when in the city to see if this is a one off with a single product or a dosing problem. Was doing the job fine till it came apart. The MagSafe puck is great, but the car mount lost its friction after a few weeks, so it couldn’t keep the phone propped up in position. Looking to see if there was any way to improve the tightness, it broke after a very small amount of force.
I wouldn’t want to buy one again, but it gets 2 stars because the MagSafe puck is still totally usable. Some nine months after purchase and near daily use, the mount broke at it's pivot point and the chargepad and phone fell onto the floor of the car, while the vent clip stayed in place. Looks like poor and inadequate design of the parts, however the warranty was not honoured. It seemed like a good deal on a Daily Steal promo, but given so many people have reported the same sort of failure, I cannot recommend this product at all. I bought this for my daughter’s car and did an collect. Picked it up and with her and went to install it in the car park. The swivel part immediately broke off. Went in to get a replacement and the technician got another one and infected it, exactly the same thing happened to the new one. Technician said to get a refund rather than try another. Charging pad was alright, with a passable grip on an iPhone Max. But the joint between the pad and the vent-grip was weak and did not survive normal wear-and-tear for a reasonable life-span. It fell apart after barely 9 months of use. Less than 12 months is very poor. And PBTech advise this is damage not covered by warranty. Pick a different brand with better design and engineering. This product is a Apple Magsafe charger holder with a third party magsafe charger and USB-C car charger. Also comes with a magsafe ring to convert your non magsafe phone to be able to stick.
