Netgear Nighthawk RS200 (BE6500) Dual-Band WiFi 7 Router

Setup claimed to be easy, but it is not as easy as they say in the pamphlets.
I went through two of these units from brand new, both faulty and the customer support from Netgear is not a great experience at all.
The support people are extremely limited in understanding and training on Wifi 7 routers, so you get passed around, long wait times, and no one can pinpoint the issue.
Drummed down to a hard ware issue and exacerbated with latest firmware updates.

Firmware immediately wants to update, once it does the wifi no longer connects to the internet and you can no longer access the router through a physical cable making it necessary to return. It's unacceptable they're still being sold when this is the default experience. TLDR: I had to return this product as "faulty" because it doesn't work properly and NETGEAR support didn't get back to me.

Things were mostly working fine and speeds were good, every now and then, Android phones or iOS devices would connect to WiFi but not get an IP and/or not get internet.

I tried disabling private MAC addresses, changing all sorts of settings, restarts, updating firmware (again), nothing made a difference. Many similar reports in forums were acknowledged by NETGEAR many months ago but then there was no resolution.

Everything works fine, had issues with my previous router and needed an upgrade. I have around 10-20 devices on a 1gbps plan from 2degrees with multiple people streaming etc and with the router in the middle of the house it reaches around a 400m2 house and even out to our shed although with reduced speeds around 70-80mbps. Setup was a bit wonky as you have to also change the vlan settings in the advanced tab of the router. I setup with 2degrees PPPOE settings in internet settings and get my speeds or even a little bit better sometimes, haven’t had any drop outs since i’ve had the router. Just make sure when you change any settings on the router especially internet or dns settings that you restart the ONT on the wall otherwise your speeds maybe less than ideal.
