"This works really well if you have streaming issues in homes where wifi is weak and doesn’t cut it. Very stable and good ethernet option for TV and laptops in particular."

"I am very happy with these. They work well and it's awesome to be able to use the power grid for internet traffic."
Daniel ~ 03-11-19
"Plug it in, works right away. Better throughput than wifi "n"! I was surprised that wifi connectivity to the next room was going up and down. Plug the AV500 in and the connection never slows. Perfect!"

Ordered this as the wireless signal from the router was way too weak.. so used this to connect the router to a wireless access point in the middle of the house. Works a charm! Not the highest spec but as I'm using this for internet traffic its perfect as still faster than my internet connection. I'm sure would also be absolutely fine for network access points for tv etc.
Used this for approx 1 month and no problems, and got a fairly good deal from PBTech.
Pro's
- Very easy to setup (took about 30 secs)
- Being able to use the power circuit makes it very convenient for use
- Goes as fast as most people would require unless a lot of data... Con's
- To work properly/best it should not be plugged into a power board, should be plugged directly into the wall, so if lack of powerpoints this can be a problem as you may get slower speeds
- Also to work best both power points they plug into should be on the same circuit, should still work if not but can be slower.
- If using as a bridge for streaming media, may bottleneck if a number of people are using at same time, so Gigabit Powerline may be better.
Overall
- Good buy and good product

Fine until...

I got this, thinking it could go to 500Mbps, not that I had anything that could go that fast when I bought it. It worked fine for VDSL, then 100Mbps fibre, but now that I have 1Gbps fibre, this is not performing. The issue is that it has a 100Mbps port, so it doesn't matter that it can go up to 500Mbps, it is still limited to 100Mbps and the best I can get is 40Mbps due to cross talk and such factors over ethernet and the powerline.I got this, thinking it could go to 500Mbps, not that I had anything that could go that fast when I bought it. Was very skeptical as network over power doesn't sound like it should work. The fact that it does, and so easily, blew my mind. Currently connecting 2 WiFi routers on opposite ends of rental home (couldn't drill and lay cables). Distance is about 25m. Was plug, play and yay 8p Haven't tested the throughput, but 3 people can stream easily on furthest point. Was very skeptical as network over power doesn't sound like it should work. Boom plug in and away you go. 105mbps in lounge, to 97mbps in the office over this beauty. And that is over fairly old wiring too. Stoked. cheaper option for me than trying to cover the whole house with stronger wifi.Boom plug in and away you go. 105mbps in lounge, to 97mbps in the office over this beauty. I came into PB wanting a Wifi extender as I didn't get signal in my room, got recommended this product which suited my need perfectly. Plugs straight into my PC, Strong connection, faster/stronger than a Wifi signal. I am so happy with this purchase. I was originally planning on running a long ethernet cable to get internet connectivity far from my router. This powerline kit made the setup so much easier.
