TP-Link Deco M4 (AC1200) Dual-Band WiFi 5 Whole Home Mesh System - 2 Pack

We were so hopeful of this product. Having seamless wifi throughout our home for devices to access. However, we have regular (multiple times per day) where various devices simply drop their connection. Because this is multiple devices, it seems unlikely to be all our devices (phones, computers, smart home products) but, rather, this wifi system.

Our two wifi devices are in line-of-sight from each other. One is plugged directly into our router.

The Deco iPhone app loses connection to the Deco wifi system on occasions (when other devices are suffering dropouts) so that can not be used to problem-solve while it a 'down'.

When it is working, it is great - which is why my Review carries a 3-star (and not a 1-star).

I want to be able to recommend the product but simply don't feel right doing so. If the problem is solved, I will gladly amend this review - but until then, I would steer clear of the TP-Link Deco M4 Whole-Home Mesh Wi-Fi System.

Finally replaced my old ISP supplied router (HG659) with an m4 Deco 2 pack.
Excellent performance throughout the house. Was actually improved with just one Deco m4 switched on - but have installed them both.
Two story house - so one downstairs and one installed up stairs.
One unit plugs into the Chorus ONT and the other unit just links to it with its own wifi connection and provides a signal booster.

Wifi vicinity is large enough to get full signal bar onto our shed thats 40m away. Easy setup as well.

The wi-fi was only reaching the middle rooms but now we have wi-fi from one end of the house (4000 sq ft) to the other with no dropping off, great product. I thought I had stepped into another world. I bought the M5 Deco 3pack - so easy to setup and simple management. Wanted to expand the coverage in the house and opted for the cheaper M4 for the extension - works like a charm. Seamless setup and completely compatible with the M5 - no more swapping wifi as you walk through the house. Full signal all the way through. Now I imagine what the more expensive Hi Speed ones are like - but I am not worried, these do the job - for gaming, streaming, working and keeping the kids occupied. My current broadband modem has a very short WiFi signal and in a 3 bedroom house was near impossible to so anything online at the other end of the house. These Deco have made such a difference especially where we are using WiFi calling as we're living in a valley, the cell phone signal is nearly non existent or intermittent, so having the Deco has made everything so much easier. We have these in our mesh topology at home currently. At first they were great but now they regularly drop out flashing red non stop even rebooting them doesn't fix the problem. Seems like hard wiring them for a few mins then unplugging fixes the problem for now. Unless you count 2m away from the main deco too close there is no reason for them to be dropping out this much. Only a wall is in their way soooo... find something else imo. We have these in our mesh topology at home currently.
