Creality Hi Desktop Version FDM 3D Printer

I brought this out of spite to be honest as I was sick of all the Bambu fanboys. I really wanted this to be a great printer and it isn't. I had a Ender 3 V2, then a KE both great printers. This one is terrible. I followed the instructions to install it which was way easier than the older Enders. The first thing it did was rip all the cable keepers out of the gantry. Prints take 7m:30s before they even start, when you are used to things starting immediately that is a surprise. That's a pretty major design flaw which makes me think what else is wrong with it. The quality is poor, I have gone back to the Ender 3 V2 for anything that needs to be half decent. Lots of ringing, lots of lines. The first job I tried would not slice properly in Creality print so I had to do it in Cura and import it via the web UI. To it's credit the bed adhesion is 10/10. If you are tossing up between the (older) A1 and this one, I would go for the A1. It would take an extraordinary chain of events for me to trust Creality again

After retiring, I decided that I would not use a 3D printer again until it was a tool, not another time consuming hobby. I think we are almost there. :-)
This reasonably priced printer was easy to assemble, it set itself up, I sent it a file over the network, and to my surprise, a perfect PLA print appeared.
I had to spend a little time getting the lightweight PLA working for my RC aircraft parts, then found that one of the alternative presets worked fine.
It is fast, accurate, and easy to use over the network, and via a USB stick.

On the downside... It is hard to think of bad things really..

It does a full level check for 10 minutes between every print, I can't turn it off without editing the GCODE, but this is not significant on a 3 hour print.
Presets in other slicers do no exist, although the rest of the Creality range is supported by, Prusa, Orca, and Bamboo.
Creality print works fine, but setting for LW-PLA are not well supported.

For the price, it exceeds my expectations.

This printer is very good and I use it a lot as it is fast and very helpful for fun and functional designs. The only con is that sometimes the CFS doesn't work. i still think its a good deal for a multicolour bed slinger 3d printer. I added the Creality Hi to my stable of printers. It was purchased to act as a temporary replacement for one of my other printers that needed parts. To my surprise and delight the Creality Hi combo has now become my main work horse. The quality was good right out of the box and it has been trouble free since day one. I recommend that any FDM printer needs to be enclosed as they are easily affected by atmospheric conditions especially at this time of the year (mid winter). I totally recommend this printer to anyone wanting to start 3D printing or to anyone wishing to expand their printer range. I had converted a 3D printer for some time, so I was delighted when this model came on special and they actually had stock! Its is very easy to use and I have had a great time making all sorts of things on it, from model planes, jeeps to dog & cat toys. and this is only the start! So while this printer offers good value for money, our unit had a faulty camera that was blurry and unusable. There is no way to adjust it physically or in software. We dismantled the camera unit and could not find any way to focus it. Saving grace is the fact you can add a Nebula camera for $60, which is far higher quality than the one on the unit and has night vision. Print a hold for it and off you go. So while this printer offers good value for money, our unit had a faulty camera that was blurry and unusable. There is no way to adjust it physically or in software. I previously had been using the entry level Ender 3 V3 SE but saw this at the really nice price PB Tech were advertising and somehow "conned" my wife into allowing me to upgrade to this colour capable 3D printer. I have to say I have not experienced any problems using this printer and the included CFS unit and so far it has met/exceeded my expectations. The only issue printing in colour has been a noticeable bleed thru of dark colours when combining them with white filament but that isn't the fault of the printer, probably more likely my choice of filament or a setting in the Creality Print software or a combination of both.
