Raspberry Pi Case Argon NEO Aluminium Case for Raspberry Pi 4, Sliding Magnetic Top, Access to GPIO Pins

I was skeptical of the claims that aluminium cases can effectively be used as passive heat sinks for Raspberry Pi 4s. My first case was a plastic case, and it needed a tiny fan to cool it effectively.

I can confirm this case works well, even if the instructions for attaching the thermal pads is a little unclear. CPU temperatures sit around the mid-to-high 40s most of the time, with the occasional peak around 52. Given that the CPU will only thermally throttle at around 80, this is plenty of headroom.

I had the router in a case with a fan and the fan was always getting dusty and clogged. It kept the Pi on average at 35 degrees.

After giving this a try I like it. It keeps the Pi4 at a 40 degree average which is all good. (Keep in mind that a router has very low resource use).

One very important issue that caused a massive amount of problems is REMOVE THE SDCARD BEFORE INSTALLING THE CASE.

They snap quite easily if you don't.

If possible could PBTech put this warning in the information somewhere :-)

Nice compact case for a mobile set-up for my Raspberry PI4. Case works well to dissipate heat for my modest workload of copying RAW files between camera and USB SSD without needing a noisy fan. BTW, just want to compliment the PBTech team. The process to get product from other branches is remarkably painless. A lot of businesses could learn a lot from the logistics at play here. Only complaint I have is that the box was hard to open. Apart from that it's a great case! Nice build quality and design, very sturdy as well. Have had zero issues with it.
