Raspberry Pi Case Black Aluminium Case with Mount, Heatsinks and Cooling Fan for Raspberry Pi 4

For a stock rPi (if you can get one in 2022), it works fine. Very neat finish, tidy solution, and ability to mount to a panel is so important, missing from many other case designs.

PB product information page could use a lot more detail, like all the dimensions. eg it's 1mm thick aluminium etc.

Room in the case for one add-on hat (like the PoE hat) However the hat clashes with the heat sinks, so 2 have to be removed and one has to loose some fins. Then longer M2.5 screws (about 15mm) needed to secure the hat, the spacer and the Pi to the case base mounting rivnuts.

Edit: The fan lasted a day before it started a very loud buzzing like the bearings had gone out so this review dropped a star.

Pros:

- The unit has brought the average temps down on my Pi by about 6 degrees.

Cons:

- There is absolutely no included instructions included with the case.
- The fan seems to be an "afterthought" add on to the case and the mounting mechanism is a bit janky.
- The fan is not the greatest so after a while it starts emitting a very loud buzzing sound.
- Only option is 100% fan speed.

- The case is not connected to the heat sinks so for best results you have to use the fan.

Instructions :

- The two smaller heat sinks attach to the smaller chips by the USB/Ethernet ports.
- The two larger heat sinks attach to the two larger chips in the middle of the unit
- The Pi may take a bit of pushing to get it into place on the standoffs.
- The fan is screwed onto the lid where the curve on the lid is (this is the only place it can go).
- The fan leads plug into pins 4 and 6 (Red on pin 4 and black on pin 6)

It was easy to assemble, and has done a great job of cooling my Raspberry Pi when it wasn't doing what I needed it to before, due to overheating. This is well worth the price, and if heat is a problem for your Pi, I recommend this case and fan very highly. My one and only complaint that is small enough that I won't take a star is that the fan is a tiny bit on the loud side. No problems with installation, but the supplied fan is full speed only, so is audible. Also, a 2-piece case clipped together - sure enough, it rattles. I originally bought my Raspberry Pi 4 as a bundle with a clear case. This new case complete with heatsinks is much more robust. After reading some reviews that didn't rate the supplied fan I installed the fan from my original package and everything is running quietly and cool. Very pleased with my purchase. This case just looks and feels fantastic. It feels solid and gives full access to all ports and the micro SD card at the back.

The included heatsinks are good, but the fan is bit high pitched for me. I swapped it out for the official Pi fan, which also allows automatic fan control, which was much quieter This case just looks and feels fantastic.
