These are basically high-end 'computer speakers'. Being advertised as "THX-Certified", and with quite a hefty price tag you'd expect them to be excellent for film, we'll yes and no. They reproduce the 'cinema sound' experience well, with decent bass, LOUD satellite speakers and okay sound quality, but there is a lot missing here. Being limited to a small bass speaker and satellite speakers, there is zero bass cross-over between the sub and satellites, and mid-range from the satellites is very weak! Music listening is passable. You'll have to play with your equaliser on whatever music source you are using, and fiddle with the sub settings when changing genres, as well as changing the speaker field settings to find the sweet spot. Audiophiles will be somewhat disappointed here, but it's to be expected with a system like this

-Suffers from 'Jack of all trades, master of none'
-Film viewing; must be ear bleedingly loud just to hear dialogue in action scenes
-Low volume listening is not good
-Bass dies off at higher volume, most noticeable with music
-Sub-woofer placement is difficult due to design, making bass less impact-full
-Power button light is much brighter than the rest, I had to tape over it!
-Built in audio delay for rear speakers when on '3D' sound field makes placement of rear speakers difficult

Conclusion: Don't let the THX-Certification fool you! These are good enough as computer speakers or as a cheap home theatre system for Netflix or gaming (ie; an alternative to a sound-bar), but audiophiles look elsewhere! I gave them a 4/5 as they're better than everything else in this category, but don't hold a candle to a proper, much more expensive, home-theatre system!

It comes with a hefty price tag so be sure to buy on sale. Just know that this system is not built for movies. All dialogue is too quiet while action scenes can sound genuinely great, but deafening. The best sound system for PC hands down...I was going to skimp and by the Z506 system but after having a chance to hear the 506 in action I decided to get the 906 and am so glad I did.Fantastic for gaming..easy setup..I also got a spdif cable which I recommend as it really pumps with crystal clear sound..I have amp set at half volume and adjust pc volume from there and have plenty of sound.HIGHLY RECOMMEND spending the extra $ to get this system. This product is good and I like it but it can't be recommended to all due to its limits and based on the fact that these are more for pc modes than TV etc mode but you can still use it. Good wattage and audio in options but lack of hdmi is a killer. If you do not want to spend a lot and buy a quality product then this might be for you.

Obviously it's not going to beat a proper home theatre set up with a nice amp and some speakers but this is a great alternative if you don't have the space or budget for a full blown 5.1 system, at a fraction of the price, it's well worth it.

Plug it in via optical digital to the TV, load up a 5.1 movie on your smart tv and enjoy cheap yet quality 5.1 surround sound. I'm majorly impressed and love this product.

Stopped working after few weeks, it doesn't decode hd audio formats of most of brays (kinda obsolete), no hdmi, needs optical cable or jacks. Audio quality isn't that bad for the price, but it's not reliable. The Logitech Z906 5.1 surround sound system on my PC is equally as good the Onkyo Amp and KEF Speakers I have on my home theater. It was a quarter of the cost of my home theater so represents great buying. I can have it on full volume with little or no distortion. At 1000 watts RMS it has incredible sound especially on movies like Avatar and Black Hawk Down. Also great sound on gaming.

My wife keeps telling me to turn it down. A little bit of fiddling setting up the 5.1 with plug ports but once going it's worth the effort. Pros

GlennM95 review is correct, I had the same exact issue with my control console, this is a common fault with this model. My unit stopped working after a year of the warranty running out, it was then such a waste to throw away perfectly good working speakers and subwoofer.
