Ultimate Ears UE HYPERBOOM (2024 USB-C Version) Wireless Portable Party Speaker - Black

Have had a Megablast for last 3 years, which produced an excellent sound. I am a musician so have a good ear for a good sound. Have been looking at next level Bluetooth speaker and after alot of research settled on the UE Hyperboom. I have not been disappointed. Although I use the speaker mainly indoors, the sound is awesome - very clear with alot of depth (maybe a little bassy - which could be reduced using app, which I haven't yet connected to). I notice the sound cuts out when increasing volume on speaker, but I'm sure there will be a solution to this. A shame my Megablast doesn't party up with the Hyperboom. I purchased the new speaker during the 2023 boxing day sale at a fantastic price. So, I'm a very happy customer and would highly recommend this speaker especially if you can purchase at a reduced price. Note, there is talk of a Hyperboom 2 coming onto the market, which will no doubt include some improvements but will come with a higher price

The Ultimate Ears Hyperboom takes sound quality and portability to a new level my older brother purchased one a while ago and since then both my Dad and I have purchased one each as well, at full volume this speaker truly brings the party to life and with 4 hours of play time at said volume or just shy of 23 hours at 50% our music keeps pumping well and truly into the night.

I bought this speaker on sale which in my opinion was an absolute steal! And since then, I have already influenced two of my friends to buy one themselves. Such a good speaker and I’ve loved this brand since day dot. Great sound and carry’s nicely outside, no distortion to sound at all. The sound is a little bit bass biased, but this can dialed out by the equaliser setting in the app and the speaker sounds really good.

We bought the UE Hyperboom a few weeks back and have been regularly using the speaker at home and in large studio spaces. We are very happy with the speaker. It produces an impressive sound in a large studio space, even playing complex Cuban rhythms, where you can clearly hear every instrument. As we already had a Megaboom 3, it was fairly simple to Bluetooth sync the new Hyperboom to the laptop and phone via the Ultimate Ears app that we had already installed, and we linked both UE speakers to the laptop by going into the Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup > Multi-output device and, then, clicking on both speaker options.

The Hyperboom is very portable and easy to carry for a larger 'party' speaker. We bought it during a sale so it was a good deal. It's certainly one of the nicest looking speakers on the market and feels like quality compared with some speakers we looked at while investigating our options. I like that it stays charges for up for 24 hours, which gives peace of mind, and is easy to charge with a direct cable to the power source, unlike the Megaboom, which has a charging pad that is starting to become a bit temperamental after two year's use.

We will definitely consider investing in a second UE Hyperboom to create surround sound in larger spaces, although the one speaker is plenty loud enough already, it will just fill up larger spaces with more even sound distribution. At home, in a smaller space, it is way more than adequate, and gives films and tv programmes a cinema-like sound quality. The Megaboom 3 is actually more than enough within small-to-mid-sized spaces, but the Hyperboom is really great for larger spaces, outdoors and parties.

Also, we've been very happy with the service from PB Tech, having bought a phone, laptop, monitors, speakers, etc, from there. The staff are very friendly and helpful in all the stores we've visited and they are good at sending invoices and requesting feedback, without inundating us with emails. We will continue to buy our tech from these guys as the service is very good and the pricing is fair, and we like that we're supporting a NZ-owned company.
