My "old" system was purchased less than 12 months ago from another company and it sucked big time. Computer an networking side of things didn't work at all!!

This is a very good improvement and for pretty much the same price as my old system and has linked to my network flawlessly.

Had the kit for 2 weeks now, and so far it's substantially better than my old Hikvision setup that I am replacing. Set up was very easy - it helped that the weather proof cover was compatible with the ones I already had on the ethernet cables. The NVR comes with a mouse, but seems to be not compatible with a keyboard, which makes entering things like passwords a bit slow. However the app and web interface (which you have to enable from the NVR) are both quite capable. After tweaking the sensitivity settings a bit, we're now only getting a few false positives.

One area where the Arlo app is still a better choice is that the Reolink push notifications about motion detection just show a line of text, and clicking on them goes to the live view rather than the moment of detection, while Arlo push notifications shows a gif of the detection directly, saving a lot of time checking.

Easy set up and functions as per description. Only negative I could think of the sensitivity of the sensors being too sensitive - picks up on flying moths which triggers the notifications. Picture quality is really good. Everything else is so bad.

-Install instructions are non-existent.
-Wall-plugs included are terrible, and no indication of the screw size to use 3rd party ones instead.
-Hardware build quality sucks - had a few collars completely jam and couldn't get them free. Threw an entire camera away because you could no longer screw it to the base.
-Reolink software itself is an absolute pain in the backside to get going properly. Bare-bones is easy, but if you want any functionality with this system it takes someone that has in-depth knowledge to get it going.
