DVD writer player
Worked first time. Only problem is that it is zoned so you get 5 goes at zone free and then it locks to the last one used. I don't know why some manufacturers still do this. There are so many zone free devices around that the idea of protection is well and truly lost. I wanted it for my laptop so I could travel and watch DVDs in transit etc, but with the restriction I will only be able to take DVDs from zone 4. If I was purchasing again I would not get this unit because of the zoning. Otherwise a good unit and easy to use.

Simple but effective player of DVD's and CD's. The instructions however fail to inform you that computers that do not have an in-built DVD drive invariably do not have the software to play DVD's either (this has surprisingly been removed from Windows 10). You should not therefore be concerned when little happens once it is attached to your computer. Remedy the situation by simply downloading an appropriate program. Most reviews suggest avoiding the one available for purchase from the MS App store. VLC Media Player however is free, robust and works very well.
Cheap and Works
Style wise it’s pretty nice and it works well. It does it’s job but does sound a bit noisy. I think it is a bit clunky to use but most DVD players are so I’m not that worried about that.

Needed a disc drive for my PC. Plays DVD and CD perfectly. Ripping CD works great. Very easy to use. No issues so far. I recommend.

Very good product for cheap price
LG USB DVD Rewriter
I bought this recently and tested it in (linux distribution) Ubuntu 20.04 using a CD-RW. It was entirely accurate both writing files (subsequently read by another DVD drive) and reading files written by another rewriter. It correctly blanked the disk.
