My previous 2TB drive ran out of space, so upgraded to the Western Digital 6tb drive. Installation was easy without issues. Bought a 3TB to replace our 2TB that failed after the power was turned off and on for electrical maintenance. Sadly our 2TB was still under warranty, but unable to be replaced because the company that installed our UNV system were no longer trading.
Swapped the old one out myself from the NVR. Seems to be all working well. Notifications and playback all working now. Maybe I'll look into a UPS next? I'm using two of these in a four-bay NAS with a couple of other drives, they're not really meant for NAS use as they are surveillance drives which means they skip on write error instead of retrying, for most home NAS use that is fine as most files are not constantly being written, only read. So five stars as they are reliable, quick, cheaper and just as good as a red drive if your use case doesn't involve constant writes to the drive. These are a cheaper alternative. Good solid piece of kit.
