There is a known issue with these headsets, and Razer is acknowledging this and is providing replacements. I would imagine the current batch of products has the fix. They have replaced my original one. Works fine, but after all the drama, I wouldn't recommend them anyway. They suffer a lot of interference from other signals near you. They have a crackly sound.
