Both the original pair I bought, and their replacements had only mono sound. One side of the earpieces was completely dead. For the first it was the left; the second, the right. Sound is alright. It doesn't seem to do that well with electronic type music, it just doesn't sound as good as it should compared to other earphones that I use. Sound is alright. These are just fantastic, I still have mine for about 2 years of daily use and general abuse. I stood on them several times with my heel (not full weight), and their rigid build sort of ignored it. Perfect for Youtube and such where audio quality is not of paramount importance. That said, they sound pretty good.
