Edifier T5 8" 70W Powered Subwoofer

I currently have the Edifier MR4 monitor speakers and I wanted more of a complete setup, so I got this product because it's the cheapest active subwoofer on the market right now. The build and material quality are solid for the price, with nothing too surprising. It sounds great with the MR4 and they're connected via the RCA signal-out ports on the back of the subwoofer. The bass is punchy and shakes a ~10m² room even at the lowest volume. The low-frequency pass is great for finely adjusting the subwoofer's crossover output. I have two other subs, a Klipsch and a Yamaha, both a lot more expensive than this, and I've bought and then got rid of cheap subs before (like the rubbish you get with some cheap soundbars and PC speakers and so on)... this on the other hand is a really good sub, just at an amazingly low price for this quality. I bought it to use with a pair of MR4 studio monitors (also ridiculously good value) and they work beautifully together... I expected it to be boomy and obvious but it works exactly as it should, if you balance it properly, so it feels like the speakers themselves are kicking you in the chest with heavy bass. Well-built, looks that fit with most decor, and very responsive. Is more than adequate for small to medium-sized spaces.

Purchased to use with my Hi Fi turntable and Kef floor standing speakers. I’m no expert but I got what I wanted with this powered sub, more than I need to be honest. I purchased this subwoofer as my current one was far too big for my medium sized lounge room and made the whole house shake and my neighbours house too…
This subwoofer is the perfect size and still has a heap of power when needed. I find it’s well suited to music playback and has a nice tight bass sound rather than a boomy sound. Highly recommend!
