Power down Idle Ports
When a computer or network equipment is off, the corresponding port of a traditional switch will continue to consume considerable amounts of power. The TL-SG1005D can automatically detect the link status of each port and reduce the power consumption of ports that are idle, resulting in up to an 85% reduction in power use.
Power Budget According to Cable Length
Ideally, shorter cable would use less power because of less power degradation over their length; this is not the case with most devices as they will use the same amount of power across the cable regardless of the length.

I have a bit of older home entertainment gear and wanted to be able to connect it all via LAN as some of it doesn't have wifi capability, but my modem/router was out of ports (with only 3 available after fibre connection uses one). Got this to get more ports. Does what it says and is cheap enough too. Happy to have bought this.

Super easy
I've had this unmanaged switch on my network for two weeks - it's worked perfectly and was easy to setup. I bought it to connect with a Deco X50 Pro unit (as it only has two ports) to then wire in my TV and other devices. Super easy setup and no issues with performance. Would buy again.
