This tiny powerhouse is ideal for a range of projects, from model trains to arcade controllers. Affordable and efficient, the Pico is a top choice for anyone venturing into programmable electronics. Just remember, you'll need to purchase header pins separately.
Excellent microcontroller
Large number of multi-purpose IO pins. Really clever programmable IO rather than specific modules for I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
Great price.
Cons: No built in wifi or Bluetooth. Doesn't come with headers. Built-in LED is single colour.
Excellent prototyping board
While being slightly more complicated than Arduino, the Pico really is unbeatable at such a high performance and low price.
You will need to solder your own headers, but the design makes this super easy.
I highly recommend that advanced users at least two for any project as you can use one pico to step-through debug the others using picoprobe.

A 133MHz processor for the price of a coffee
Works flawlessly…program the firmware, download Thonny and you are good to go with a live terminal running micro python
Raspberry Pi Nano
Cheap and small microprocessor unit. They are ideally, suited for little projects, but with much more horsepower than an Arduino Nano for a similar price.
Great fun
Very clever chip and board design, so versatile. Official software download makes it simple to put to work.

Great little board to experiment especially when you consider that this little micro is pocket change for most.
